TECHNOLOGY DEAL PUTS HIGH PEAK CRANE MAKER IN FRONT Already the UK's largest volume builder of factory cranes, Street Crane of Chapel-en-le-Frith have signed a technology deal to underpin the next phase of their growth. An exclusive agreement with Innocrane of Finland has been signed that allows sole UK rights to the ICRAS load stability system now to be rebranded by Street as XY-Zero precision crane control. They will now be able to offer the system to new customers and the users of the 11,000 Street overhead cranes operating throughout the UK. Virgin Airways and Toyota are just two UK users who have recognised the potential of the new system, ordering the systems for new cranes currently in production. Street's managing director, Andrew Pimblet explained, "XY-Zero provides a low cost gateway to the automation of routine crane movements. In repetition manufacturing the new system makes it possible to totally automate the process." XY-Zero has been extensively tested and proven by Street, both in their own premises and in exacting field trials. The Street web site - www.streetcrane.co.uk - has a video of a system in a demanding environment. Alternatively, the same clip is available direct from the company on CD-ROM.
