BIO-ACTIVE PROTECTION FROM NEW PANEL SYSTEM 

A new range of large GRP panels with an active ingredient for bio-hazard reduction has been introduced by plastics fabricator Octaveward.  Hygiene is a critical issue in every branch of food processing and catering and the new panels address the need for safer cleanable and attractive wall and ceiling surfaces.

The panels are effective against a broad spectrum of micro organisms including gram positive and gram negative bacteria, fungi and algae.  Bacterial control includes E. Coli and Salmonella Choleraesuis, two of the most common causes of food poisoning.  The large panels are easy to install so projects are quickly finished and ready to use.  Virtually seam free and resilient enough to withstand industrial use, the panels eliminate the many joints found in tiling and are far more attractive than grey stainless steel.  Octaveward's bio-active panels can also be fitted to doors where frequent hand contact is a common cause of bacteriological transfer. 

The secret of the Octaveward panels is a compound embedded in the polymer.  This means that the antimicrobial action is permanent and is unaffected by cleaning operations.  The effective agent used in the panels is accepted and registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Panels can be made with any permanent colour required.  This may be useful where companies want to extend branding or corporate colours into the workplace or to use colour to signify special hazards or designate process areas.  Text, logos or other messages can also be permanently embedded in the panels.

The Octaveward hygienic panel system is not an alternative to thorough and effective cleaning programmes.  It provides an additional measure of protection between cleaning cycles for process areas.
