ELECTRICAL SAFETY SPECIALIST FORGES CHINA LINKS WITH NEW SALES OFFICE IN SHANGHAI A new dedicated sales and technical office has been established in Shanghai by UK based specialist in cable gland and connector technology, Hawke International. The company will share premises and resources with Chalmit Lighting, Killark and Victor Lighting who are fellow members of the Hubbell Electric Products Group. Hawke is a leading supplier of electrical safety equipment for hazardous areas to the world energy industry. Commenting on the move, Simon Toh, who heads-up the Shanghai office explained, “Oil consumption in China is rising at an average annual rate of 7.5 percent due to surging industrialisation. Vehicle numbers increased by 19 percent last year and we see strong demand for our products in exploration, production and refining.” Previously, the Chinese regions were supported by Hawke’s Asia office based in Singapore.
