NEW PRODUCTS ASSURE HYGIENIC INTEGRITY AND ELECTRICAL SAFETY

A new push-in stopping plug for use in demanding industrial environments, the ExPress, from Hawke International, has received Baseefa accreditation.  The ATEX compliant plug meets IP66 ingress protection requirements and is deluge resistant.  The plugs are certified for operation in temperatures from minus 40 degrees C to plus 80 degrees C.

The ExPress plug is easy to install in all cabinets and enclosures, protecting instrumentation electrics and control circuitry.  No special tools are required and they eliminate locknuts and serrated washers that can be difficult to install in confined spaces.  Manual pressure is sufficient to engage the plug for assured sealing.

The new plug complements Hawke's EZE hazardous area enclosure, a radical clam-shell design.  Users in pharmaceutical and food industries will find that using these products in conjunction offers greater environmental safety and installation productivity.  Hawke will offer the ExPress plug as a component to other OEM manufacturers seeking high integrity seals for areas that are subject to thorough and frequent cleaning and for other harsh environments.

The introduction of the ExPress stopping plug coincides with the extension of the EZE enclosure range with the introduction of the EZE 62.  This enclosure has a face area of 624mm x 319mm and a depth of 183mm to accommodate 60 M20 cable entries and a maximum of 190 WDU 2.5 terminals.  All EZE enclosures have clean trap-free lines, are fabricated in mirror finish stainless steel and have an angled top so that water cannot accumulate, making them ideal for environments where hygiene is a critical factor.

Inside the cabinet, removable brackets hold the terminals, din rails, or instrumentation away from the back plate to make assembly and under wiring easy.  For access, the single-piece lid is hinged to allow vertical opening.  This gives the technician full access from the front and side, with the open lid also acting as a temporary weather-shield while the enclosure is being wired, inspected or modified.

Hawke's Mike Connelly explained, "Unused cable entries in the gland plates can now be sealed using the certified ExPress plug, which eliminates the need for special tools, but remains completely tamperproof in that it can only be removed from inside the enclosure.  The push-in plugs allow users to modify wiring more easily and seal any unused entries with complete confidence."
