Rochdale Company Pioneer Quality Scheme

Over 160 years after the first Pioneers, another Rochdale company is blazing a trail.  Specialist architectural fabricators, Guttermaster, based at Shawclough, are founder members of the Pioneer Guarantee Scheme.  This is a revolutionary scheme to guarantee building performance in all weathers for 10 years.

Mike McKee, Guttermaster’s managing director, explained.  “We make gutters, rainwater down-pipes, soffits and aerofoil fascias – components that can be subject to high rainfall, strong winds and snow loading.  The Pioneer scheme provides architects, contractors and their clients with a solid insurance backed guarantee.  To provide additional peace of mind, and keep premiums competitive, the warranty scheme is underpinned by a rigorous independent quality audit of all design, manufacturing and site work.”     

The scheme applies to both new-build and refurbishment projects.  One of the first installations to qualify was a flat roof to pitched roof conversion of flats for Harlow Council.  Guttermaster worked closely with roofing contractors Art Contracts Limited of Banbury, who are also scheme members.   The entire roof construction and its drainage system are therefore covered by the warranty.  

“Instead of leaks and continual maintenance that were affecting the residents’ quality of life and threatening the integrity of the building, the council now have assured long term weather protection.  Given the weather that we have in the North West, I am sure that we will have many local customers who will find the additional warranty protection a worthwhile investment,” Mike McKee concluded.
