SMALL SCALE POLISHER WITH INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH There are many low volume polishing and deburring applications where high quality mechanised finishing is desirable but uneconomic. To fill this gap Finishing Techniques have launched their new CF-T Series single and double drum bench top finishing machines. Built to the same exacting technical standards as their larger machines, the CF-T's will produce a quality finish in the optimum time with repeatability and high reliability. Suitable for polishing micro-mechanical components such as stampings, springs, miniature forgings or castings and even ceramics the machines will have many uses. The CF-T has a virtually zero gap between the centrifugal disk and the barrel. This prevents the entrapment of polishing media or small components. This avoids the long term service problems that could be caused by erosion of the joint and ensures better product yields of even higher quality. Productivity is promoted by high speeds. Clever drum configuration prevents harsh product handling and avoids high temperatures that can cause the smearing of polishing compound. For safety, motors use thermal switches and current limiters and there are no hazards that require guards to be fitted. CF-T machines come with either single or twin barrels using five or nine litre drums. The twin drum machines are ideal for sequential processing using different media to obtain a progressively finer surface finish. The units are made from resilient materials and parts that have been selected for a reliable and an extended service life. Time switches are available to allow optimum process cycles to be repeated without any supervision. A water metering device can be specified for wet processing and there is an optional frequency converter speed control. There is an extensive range of polishing media to choose from. Finishing Techniques will advise and run trial batches of customer components to find the best process cycle and media type that meets the desired quality standard.
