No More Line-Speed Limits with New Hitachi Printer for Coding and Marking

With the launch of the PXR series continuous ink jet printer range, Hitachi, a company with 30 years experience in continuous ink jet (CIJ), has set new performance benchmarks.  Ian Luck, managing director of UK distributor, Euromark Coding and Marking, explained, “With outputs as high as 700 metres per minute, the PXR printers set class-leading standards for print speed so this ceases to be a limiting factor on line speed.” They also offer exceptional quality, reliability, low emissions, cost of ownership and convenience.

Existing users include Coca-Cola, Proctor and Gamble, Arla Foods, Nestlé Krones and Sony.  Hitachi engineer and manufacture all the main system components in-house with close quality control at every stage.  This allows them to produce CIJ machines that offer exceptional reliability and value.  

Hitachi’s thorough approach extends to careful consideration of user needs and operational conditions.  The controls, for example, are housed in an ergonomically designed stainless steel cabinet, sealed to IP55 standards and capable of handling harsh industrial environments and the deep cleaning regimes that are common on pharma and personal care. The machine is operated via a large touch-screen panel driven by context sensitive software.  This makes set up, reprogramming and fault-finding simple and intuitive.  Essential consumables are housed in the base of the cabinet.

PXR systems respect the environment. They are fully RoHS compliant.  The ink delivery system minimises solvent loss to the atmosphere, has miserly ink consumption and is easily accessed for quick and easy service and maintenance.  Daily manual print head cleaning is not required as these are automatically cleaned at the end of each cycle in preparation for the next trouble-free start.

Euromark are supplying five models in the range.  The PXR D 260/460W is the workhorse that will meet most needs.  Other models offer higher speed printing, ultra-fine high quality printing, large-character marking and printing onto dark substrates using pigmented inks.
