Street Crane Strengthen USA Presence
With the US dollar exchange rate passing the $2 mark many UK companies are backing away from this market. Swimming against the tide, Street Crane Company have appointed a new sales manager, Dick Davidson to spearhead their sales drive in North America, focussing on a new range of competitive high technology hoists.
“In my new role I will be responsible for introducing independent regional crane builders to Street’s advanced hoist technology,” Dick explained. “Street Crane has had a presence as a hoist supplier in North America for only a little time but has gained a reputation for hoists that are innovative and soundly engineered. I have been able to see the new generation of hoists the company has developed and think that North American manufacturers will appreciate not just their design and build quality, but exceptional competitiveness.”
Dick has spent his entire professional career in the industrial crane industry. Since graduation from Mississippi State University, with a degree in math, he has worked for major manufacturers such as Eaton-Yale Hoist, R&M and DeShazo. A past president of the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Dick is widely known throughout the industry.
Dick’s appointment is part of a world-wide expansion for Street Crane who is aiming to substantially increase its hoist and component sales business. For the past three years the company has been developing a new generation of hoists. Using 3D modelling techniques, finite element analysis, critical vibration tests and accelerated life testing the company has developed a family of robust modular based hoists. These meet or exceed standards in all major industrial markets, set new performance and quality benchmarks and have the adaptability to meet the specific needs of many users.
