IRIS Pioneer Rowe Hankins Renews Quality Accreditation

One of the first UK companies to achieve approval under the revised rules for IRIS (International Rail Industry Standard) quality certification, Rowe Hankins, has passed a further comprehensive audit. The company specialise in speed control, wheel flange lubrication, high integrity circuit protection, on train monitoring and recording and other electro-mechanical rail safety systems.

The audit was conducted by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in quality certification and examined every aspect of the business. Speaking of the award, managing director Amanda Jones noted, “This has been an incredible team effort, we climbed a mountain to achieve IRIS in 2010, but because quality is a continuous process there has been no respite and everyone has embraced the idea that we must constantly get better. Our auditor congratulated us on maintaining the momentum and continuing to innovate and improve our processes.”

Rowe Hankins supplies major rolling stock manufacturers such as Alstom, Bombardier and Siemens as well as train and light rail operators throughout the UK. “Certification is an international passport to trade as IRIS is truly a global standard, we therefore expect that this will help us in building our global network of distribution partners,” Amanda concluded.
