Ainsworth Maguire PR Quotation - Help

These help tips will guide you in completing the PR quotation form. The information you give, will help us to produce a detailed quotation for your public relations needs.

Please summarise your business, products and services.

Tell us about your company history. Who started the business - when, where and why? What products do you produce and what customer needs do they address? What makes them different and how do you provide customer support?

What markets do you service?

Tell us what the major market segments are. How you identify your target markets will help us to research the most relevant media for each segment.

How do you distribute your products/services?

We need to understand your distribution channels - again this will help us to identify the media outlets to convey your PR messages.

Who is responsible for or influences the purchasing decision?

Tell us who specifies the product, who purchases the product and who benefits from it. Sometimes this maybe one person, but more often involves groups of decision makers with differing concerns. For your PR to be successful we need to tailor messages to each of these groups to address their specific needs.

What factors drive or influence your market?

Tell us about user concerns and the effects of external factors such as technology, legislation or business changes. Outline your response to these external forces.

Who or what are your major competitors?

Tell us about the companies that offer similar products and the alternative solutions that a customer could consider. What are their weaknesses and strengths? How do you respond to them?

What marketing methods do you currently use?

This includes both personal methods such as sales and technical service personnel, along with indirect methods such as PR, advertising, exhibitions, road shows, literature, direct mail, e-mail promotion and the web.

Please give a brief summary of your business objectives.

We need to know what direction your business is taking and what opportunities you are seeking to exploit.

How do you expect PR to support your objectives?

Select as many options as you wish and add extra items in the box provided.

How many of the following do you think you need?

Please try and quantify the volume of work that maybe required. For example, if you know you are going to launch 4 new products, you are likely to require at least 4 product releases during the year. If you have interesting applications to talk about you may want to treat these as feature articles - usually offered as exclusives to selected editors.

Would you like a clipping service?

If you wish to monitor where your releases are published you will need a professional clipping service.

Would you like a web monitoring service?

Besides traditional print monitoring their are specialist companies that will monitor key online publications.

Would you like your clippings analysed?

One way to assess the effectiveness of a PR campaign is to analyse clippings for their content, accuracy of targeting and value.

Do you have a budget in mind?

If you have been able to quantify the amount of work, then we can produce an accurate costing for you. However, a variable mix of activities are possible to support you aims so it is also helpful to have an idea of the kind of budget you can make available. Typically, most annual PR campaigns, with a range of monthly activities, will cost from £12,000 upwards.

When do you need proposals?

We aim to produce your quotation as quickly as possible. However, if you have a specific deadline you need to meet, please insert it here.
