To celebrate the opening of their new Liverpool Ductshop, ventilation
trade products supplier Senior Hargreaves, has announced a charitable link with Alder Hey Children's
Hospital. To symbolise the relationship, Hargreaves has created a Tin Man, which will be a key feature in a
themed garden at the hospital.
Ductshop general manager, Phil Johnson, explained, "In setting up our new branch in Liverpool we
were keen to become involved with the local community. The Alder Hey sponsorship allows us to show that
commitment in a tangible way. Staff at Alder Hey suggested a Tin Man. Because this will become a permanent
feature, we thought it only fitting to make the sculpture in stainless steel. Using traditional
metalworking skills, our fabricators have risen to the challenge and created a sculpture that we hope will
delight the children at the hospital for many years."
The depot was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton, Councillor Clifford Mainey and his
wife Sylvia on Thursday December 2. Hargreaves' Liverpool Ductshop is part of a national network supplying
a complete range of ductwork, fans and accessories to HVAC contractors, plumbers, electricians and
builders. Other Hargreaves locations include Bury in Greater Manchester, Leeds, Heathrow, and East Kilbride
with more new openings planned for 2005.
