Affordable Home Power Control from Cudis Draws Installers and Distributors at Electrex
Cudis, the domestic power division of Rowe Hankins Components, made their debut at Electrex 2006. Offering the CPN range of circuit breakers, consumer units and RCD Sockets, Cudis reported strong interest from installers, distributors, builders and housing professionals.
In less than two years, Cudis have established themselves as a significant supplier of domestic circuit protection and power equipment. All products are designed and tested in the UK in an ISO 9000 quality assured environment. Similarly, contract manufacture in the Far East takes place in ISO 9000 factories, with on-site QA by Rowe Hankins. This ensures consistent quality, high reliability and products that are highly competitive.
Cudis shared the stand with Rowe Hankins Components who were showing their precision circuit breakers for high integrity applications in engineering, rail traction, telecoms and other demanding situations. These were complemented by extensive ranges of rocker, pole, push button and snap-action switches for use in control panels, on appliances and OEM applications.

CPN Consumer Units and Circuit Breakers
Good design and great value underpin the range of CPN consumer units that give users the flexibility to fit from two to 24 poles. This covers every need from garage and shower models, through models suitable for rewires, to units for new-build projects.
All models are finished in Ivory and have clean elegant lines that will sit comfortably with modern or traditional décor – they can be installed without any need for further enclosure. Cases are moulded in impact resistant and flame retardant ABS. Each unit has a smoked glass effect cover screening the circuit breakers; this drops down to give easy access and frees both hands to work efficiently.
For ample wiring access, two twist lock clips allow the front of the unit to be removed. MCB's and other units are based on single or multiple industry standard modules and are positively attached by continuous DIN rail with copper bus bars providing power connection.
Units are supplied unfurnished for configuration to user needs. The enclosures are complemented by a range of compatible single, double or triple pole MCB’s from two to 63A. These are available with trip curves B, C or D. Isolators, RCD’s and RCBO’s complete the range of components.
Both design and manufacture of the Cudis CPN product range is undertaken in ISO 9000 quality certified factories. Products are subject to rigorous inspection to ensure trouble free installation and long-term performance.

RCD Sockets from CPN
Designed by CPN in the UK to meet local conditions, their RCD sockets offer a class-leading combination of quality and value. They are presented in attractive clear display packs that fit standard racking. Point-of-sale counter displays are also available to increase attention.
The twin 13A sockets give protection for anyone operating 240v 50Hz power tools or garden equipment. Units have plastic face plates for domestic situations or have high strength metal enclosures for garage, utility or workshop use.
Safety is a critical issue and the units will trip in less than 40ms when the differential between live or neutral exceeds 30mA. Test and reset buttons enable safe operation to be verified. Units comply with BS7288 while design and manufacture takes place in ISO 9000 quality assured factories.
The units are easy to wire. The metal clad unit comes with its own enamelled steel back box to match the faceplate. This has knockout apertures for connection to electrical conduit. RCD Sockets are just part of the expanding CPN range of electrical systems from Cudis that are designed for safety, performance and value.
