The Wallwork Group: Stand 6012 Professional Motorsport World 2014

Returning to Professional Motorsport World, the Wallwork Group will highlight the latest advances in micro thin coatings that improve metal wear resistance, lubricity and performance of critical engine, gear box and transmission components. Thermal processing techniques for metal hardening and bonding will also feature.

Wallwork specialise in protecting metal-to-metal surfaces from damage to maintain an optimal profile and therefore performance. The company works extensively with leading F1 teams on key components such as camshafts, gearing, bearings and turbo chargers. Precision coatings cover the full carbon spectrum, from graphite to ultra-hard diamond, giving exceptional resilience and lubricity. In addition, the company’s aerospace standards of thermal processing can extend component life and performance under the most extreme conditions.

A range of single, multi-layer and duplex coatings, based on nitride and other materials, is also available. Backed by comprehensive research, development and quality assurance facilities, Wallwork can create bespoke processes that address particular technical issues found in motor racing.

As a leading aerospace component processor, Wallwork has a wealth of experience in the vacuum brazing of complex components. This process provides extraordinary strength metal to metal bonding in a high vacuum environment, eliminating surface oxidization and producing strong joints that retain a degree of ductility required in situations susceptible to shock and vibration.
